Selection of Posters (2002 -2020)
After the 2000 election of George W. Bush was stolen from the American people making political posters and other political works became a priority for me. Doing whatever I could to help people become aware of and be able to rally against a totally disfunctional neoliberal takeover of the planet, was what I had to do. How can one make only beautiful art when living in a maelstrom, how can one meditate in a hurricane? Visual communication can synthesize and condense multiple layers of information with emotional impact and can inform and allow people to feel they are not alone. It also can be a symbol of resistence and help to communicate and link with others as these images of resistance spread around to build a self-organized movement toward self-governing. Nearly all the posters you see below were created, ususally fairly quickly, in repsonse to pressing issues of the time, printed and carried in protests in the streets of Oakland, San Francisco, the SF Bay Area, Portland Oregon, New York, DC, and other places I can't remember.
The ones on top are the most recent.
